Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) organized the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair 2026" and a seminar on 25 June 2026, jointly hosted by the Office of the Director (Research and Extension) and the IQAC. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Engr. Mohammad Iqbal, inaugurated the event as Chief Guest, while the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Arefin Kowser, attended as Special Guest and panelist and Prof. Dr. Md. Anwarul Abedin, Director (Research & Extension) and Prof. Dr. Utpal Kumar Das, Director, Students’ Welfare Office also participated as Special Guests and panelists . The seminar was chaired by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md. Obaidur Rahman, with Professor Dr. A. S. M. A. Haseeb from BUET as the keynote resource person.

The day featured a poster presentation fair with over 200 final-year students showcasing innovative projects across ten departments, followed by an afternoon seminar on "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education for Engineering Graduates."
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized DUET's commitment to producing innovators and change-makers, noting that students are applying AI, Block-chain, and VR to solve real-world challenges. He stressed the need for stronger industry-academia collaboration and expressed confidence that these young innovators would contribute to Bangladesh's sustainable development and national mega projects. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor and other special guests echoed the importance of blending theoretical knowledge with globally competitive research and entrepreneurship.

The event, which included welcome remarks by IQAC Additional Director Professor Dr. Shafiqul Islam and a vote of thanks by Professor Dr. Shahjalal Khandakar, was attended by deans, department heads, faculty, students, and staff reaffirming DUET's dedication to fostering innovation and industry-oriented engineering education.
